Comfort Stop for COOPER before connecting flight at Montreal Airport

Manoir Kanisha offers a nice Comfort Stop for COOPER before his connecting flight at Montreal Airport.

Comfort Stop for COOPER meeting a connecting flight at Montreal Airport

Most airlines have a policy that pets should not be kept in their cargo warehouse for more than a certain number of hours between two flights. If they must be on the ground for many hours at Montreal Airport, the airlines contact Manoir Kanisha to offer the pet a nice comfort stop in our facilities.

COOPER, a lovely golden retriever puppy, had to be at Montreal Airport for more than 7 hours between two flights. The airline contacted us to offer a nice Comfort Stop for COOPER meeting a connecting flight at Montreal Airport. We made sure he was picked up upon his arrival at cargo and brought to our Pet Care Center. We gave him some fresh water and food, exercise him off leash in our secure play area, cleaned its travel crate and returned him to their cargo area in time for its next flight.

The owner contacted us to request a complete grooming while he was under our care. See the special treatments he received from Debbie while in our grooming room:

We recommended that the owner placed portions of dry food in Ziplock bags and tape them on the top of his travel crate. This is to ensure that we could feed COOPER with his regular home diet.

COOPER had a long traveling day: he left his residence really early in the morning at Wabush Airport in Labrador, arrived in Montreal at noon, came to Manoir Kanisha for a nice COMFORT STOP, was fed, exercised and groomed in the afternoon. He was then returned to the cargo area early evening to catch his flight from Montreal to Fredericton, New Brunswick. He finally arrived at his destination at 01h00am the next morning. Ouf!

This was such a lovely and well behaved Golden Retriever puppy. We took some pictures of COOPER after his grooming. He looked spectacular!

Below are a few comments from COOPER’s owner before he arrives in Montreal, during his stay at our facilities and after his arrival home. To keep this post shorter, we removed the numerous E-mails sent by Manoir Kanisha.

Subject: Request for COMFORT STOP & GROOMING at Manoir Kanisha

Hi Nicole,

COOPER will be flying out today. As requested, I’ve taped some of his food to the kennel, he usually eats 3/4 of a cup, 4 times a day. I also placed a blanket and a couple of his toys in there. Thanks so much. Cheers,  Mike B.

Thanks so much for the update of his safe arrival in Montreal. I’m very glad to hear. I will be at the airport to get him tonight. Glad he is doing well.

He’s very friendly as you may have noticed already. Regards, Mike

Thanks so much, great pictures. Puppies certainly do eat everything. Thanks for that, I try to limit the random things he had access to, but I can’t get everything. I will confirm when he gets here. Thanks again. Michael

Well, that’s good news that you found what he ate. On another note, I have no clue how his toy chicken got in his travel crate. The only toy I put in was the rope one. Maybe he put it there himself last night. Well, at last it’s been found in his stools. Thanks so much.

As for the water, the airline requested we not put any water or food for him.         Comfort Stop for COOPER meeting a connecting flight at Montreal Airport

But, if that is the best practice I will freeze water in his travel crate from here on out.

Thanks so much, I’m very impressed with how professional and friendly you guys have been. Regards, Mike
