Relocation of BRACHYCEPHALIC BREEDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"post-title\">This is distilled wisdom as well as specific requirements from several airlines regarding the air transport of brachycephalic breeds.\u00a0 This means snub-nosed breeds of cats and dogs of the following breeds (and their crosses) Himalayan, Pug, Boxer, Bulmastif, etc.<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1935\" src=\"https:\/\/manoirkanisha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Maroucia-standing-Brachycephalic-breed-032-e1375301810574-290x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1937\" src=\"https:\/\/manoirkanisha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cat-Brachycephalic-persian-cat-300x224-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0Due to their inherent breathing difficulties,\u00a0owners and shippers of brachycephalic breeds,\u00a0MUST follow the following guidelines:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>The travel crate must be adequately ventilated on all four sides.<\/li>\n<li>Brachycephalic breeds must travel in a crate\u00a0which is at least 10% larger than normally required;<\/li>\n<li>The owner or shipper must acclimatise the animal to their travel crate\u00a0by letting the pet\u00a0spend daily time in their travel crate several days or better weeks, before departure.<\/li>\n<li>The owner or shipper must have the animal\u2019s individual risk assessed by a veterinarian prior to travel. To be eligible for air travel,\u00a0all brachycephalic breeds and\u00a0their crosses\u00a0must be accompanied with a letter or certificate from a registered veterinarian that specifies that the animal is fit-to-air travel or to undertake the journey intended.\u00a0 This is in addition to all the\u00a0other veterinary certificates required by the airline and the destination country.<\/li>\n<li>Excessive temperatures and humidity should be avoided. Where possible, it is recommended that flights be selected to leave or arrive in very hot and humid countries, either\u00a0early morning or late at night,\u00a0when the\u00a0temperature is known to be cooler.<\/li>\n<li>During flight, no food need be available inside the travel crate. Water should be available\u00a0all the time.\u00a0Small portion of spare food can be strapped to the top of your pet\u2019s crate.<\/li>\n<li>The shipper should select\u00a0the most direct flights and the travel plans should avoid\u00a0stops in cities where expected ambient hot temperatures or humidity differs significantly from the normal conditions the animal is exposed to. \u00a0If the owner is planning the travel themselves, be sure to plan the journey first for the pet, and then decide if you wish to accompany on the same flights.\u00a0 Always allow enough time at transits for movement between incoming and outgoing flights. \u00a0To move a pet, the airlines often requires a minimum of 4-6 hours on the ground between two flights, even if they are from the same carrier.
