Manoir Kanisha will close on January 31st 2025

Written by Aéroport de Montréal

« After 35 years of Pet Boarding and International Pet Relocation services, Manoir Kanisha will cease its activities as of January 31, 2025. ADM, Aéroports de Montréal, has informed us that they must reclaim these local strategic areas for airport use. Although this situation saddens us, we understand that ADM must prioritize its users and maintain their level of service. In this context, we have decided not to relocate our activities to another site. We want to thank our dedicated employees who have provided excellent care to thousands of animals. We are very grateful to our loyal customers who have used our various services during the last 35 years. »

Our clients having unused days in their 28-DAY-PREPAID PACKAGE will be refunded after March 31, 2025.

LUCY, from SNOWY MONTREAL to LUANDA, Angola

LUCY, from SNOWY MONTREAL to LUANDA, Angola. This week we relocated a lovely Bernese Mountain Dog, from a snow storm in Montreal to LUANDA, Angola located in West Africa. She took a flight from Montreal to Amsterdam and then, a second flight from Amsterdam to LUANDA, Angola in West Africa.

What a change of environment for this beautiful LUCY. While at Manoir Kanisha, LUCY was groomed and she looked so beautiful.

As these pictures demonstrate, LUCY loved to play in the snow.

LUANDA is the most expensive city in the world:

LUCY, from SNOWY MONTREAL to LUANDA, Angola LUCY, from SNOWY MONTREAL to LUANDA, Angola

According to Mercer’s annual “cost of living” ranking (in 2015), that was released today, ANGOLA’s capital Luanda, is the most expensive city in the world, ahead of more usual suspects like Hong Kong, Zurich, and Singapore. In financial terms: to rent a two bedroom apartment in Luanda, you will pay on average an astonishing $6,800 per month, the FT reported.

How is that possible? Angola’s GDP per head is just $7,700 per year. In other words, the average Angolan would only be able to rent a two-bedroom apartment for one month of the year. Surely the math doesn’t add up?

In the list, cities like Zurich, Geneva, Bern as well as Singapore and Hong Kong are where we would expect them to be: up top. These cities, after all, are located in some of the richest and thus most expensive countries in the world. Hong Kong has a GDP of $53,000 per capita, Switzerland does even better with $57,000, and Singapore, finally, has a whopping GDP per head of $78,000, putting it on the global top 3 of wealthiest countries, just behind Luxembourg and Qatar. It is no surprise then that the cost of living there reflects the income of its people.

We hope that LUCY will enjoy her new very hot environment

and that she will not miss the snow too much.

                                    We certainly will miss her!
